Silenced Truth: The Story Behind the Camera

A tribute to journalists and the people whose stories they carry

Silenced Truth began with watching journalists report from Gaza as their own communities were being devastated.

Our founder, Nasib Thabet, watched people continue documenting what was happening around them despite extraordinary danger. Learning of journalists’ deaths left him with a need to remember them and honor the work they had done.

The camera became the center of this design because of the people behind it.

Every person carrying a camera has a life beyond the frame. They have family, friendships, routines, and plans for a future. Their work brings other people’s lives into view, often under circumstances most of us will never experience.

On a phone, an image can pass in seconds. We can scroll past a destroyed home, a grieving parent, or a reporter documenting the destruction. The lives within those images deserve more than a moment of attention.

Silenced Truth asks us to pause.

The design honors journalists who lost their lives and expresses solidarity with those who continue reporting. For Nasib, their courage represents a profound service to humanity: helping the world see what people are enduring and leaving a record that others can examine, remember, and demand accountability for.

The name carries both grief and resolve. A voice can be lost. The testimony it leaves behind can still be heard, preserved, and shared.

We want this design to open conversations about the people behind the reporting, the importance of press freedom, and our responsibility to seek reliable information.

Wear it in remembrance. When someone asks about the camera, tell them why it is there.
